On this wonderful #HillfortsWednesday we look back at issue 68 of AARGnews where our Editor's Picture focussed on Uffington Castle - an Iron Age univallate hillfort. Environment Agency LiDAR shows incredible detail, including medieval ridge and furrow within the hillfort itself!

use usgs earthexplorer for us based stuff. most of HistoricAerials' material is from there. for topo maps, usgs topoview is your friend. (sorry for replying to a 4 month old post lol but i figured it'd be helpful)

For the full-size versions of these images, you'll have to go to the USGS's EarthExplorer platform. Take that map over to the St. Helens area and search their Aerial Photo Single Frames data set.
Prepare to experience volcanic photographic magic.

EO folks - is there a tool for searching all of @esa's satellite archives (e.g. SPOT, Pleiades, etc) at once? I'm thinking something similar to earthexplorer but for ESA data?

Is there a reason why Copernicus (Dataspace) Browser and USGS EarthExplorer (especially heavy duty account setup) require login information to access free and open satellite data? #eochat

Could the MCD64A1 data (MODIS Burned Area Product) be any more of a pain to download?!?! EarthData doesn't seem to have a way to limit to season so I have 240 files. USGS EarthExplorer doesn't have bulk download enabled for it- I could download all 60 separately, but uuuuugggh

Has anyone used Landsat ARD surface temperature data? I am trying to help an undergrad and i've not used this dataset but have downloaded the earthexplorer level 2 data tile that at least from the .json description shows it in Kelvin but like... the tiles come in with values in the 40,000 range?
