Now that the oxygen is more rich, the levels are in line, and the bacteria is eating up sludge and algae that competes for nutrients....
We are already seeing a big jump in wildlife visitors!

Rain in the basin. No ducks, few egrets, no heron sightings. Fewer birds. Santa Maria, anywhere, strawberries and the insect/weed killers have killed the food supply. Insects and whatever grew in that water 10 years ago. Even in the past two years, no racoons, a couple of opossums left, no mosquitos
Photography keeps teaching me the same thing: there is beauty to find in whatever light you're given 🪶

Western Cattle Egret (Ardea ibis). Mild weather so still quite a few around. Still can't get used to this bird being in the Ardea genus, although that was the original classification from the 18th century. Has been in Bulbulcus genus for only 168 years. 😄 #BirdingHungary #egrets #waders #herons

We always spend time everyday with our binoculars, watching the rich array of marsh birds. The Osprey nests are monitored, the Anhinga giggled at as they dry their wings, and of course there are Herons, Egrets and all sorts of marsh birds. Thank you for these beautiful posts and info, Kris
