Designed for PhD students, postdocs, faculty and researchers in biology, ecology, evolution, biostatistics, geography and related fields, the course covers manipulation of large spatial databases, grid-mapping of species, trait and phylogenetic diversity, assemblage- and tip-based metrics, partitioning trait variation, spatial phylogenetic metrics (PD, MPD, DR), mapping diversification and historical dispersal, biogeographic regionalization with evolutionary information, integrating environmental predictors, and practical use of Herodotools and other R packages—emphasizing uncertainty handling, reproducible script organization, and hands-on troubleshooting of participants’ own data.
