"AI is a tool."

No. Empirically not. A tool empowers people; helps people. It solves an extant problem. Generative AI in creative mediums is being used as a cudgel that diminishes and eliminates people, and the only "problem" being solved is fiscal.

Stop validating it, even in passing.

I could (and probably should but in a more edited manner) go on and on but I think it's a mistake to work backwards from the previously hegemonic position AIPAC had on Capitol Hill and determine that this was solely out of sheer force of will. AIPAC benefited from an already-extant political current

Look, I don’t think we as a society really need any more James Bond, but James Bond was always supposed to be a fucking cipher. We aren’t supposed to know shit about him and his continuity between movies used to be barely extant.

Great to find a new site for Beech Fern (Phegopteris connectilis) in Co. Clare. The species is known to be extant at only two other places in Clare @bsbibotany.bsky.social @bsbiireland.bsky.social

To quote the tumblr post, decay is an extant form of life (ed: and an ingredient)

Actually, listening to the Gear series, I wonder if Canadian military contracts have something to do with those still extant local boot manufacturers

I think the big variable is how extant a unified opposition is and how interested you are in stability as opposed to just accelerating a collapse.

Definitely. And in some categories, there aren’t good quality necessities at all anymore. I cannot buy a new sewing machine that I can expect to last even 20 years now. While a large proportion of the first 115 years of sewing machines are still extant and working fine.

What is the worst extant tetrapod?

What is the worst extinct tetrapod?

You have any advice/things you wish you knew earlier before you started consulting for documentaries/television appearances?

Like, if Christianity or whatever helps you through this life on a personal basis that's a choice that you can make but it is seriously wild to me how little a lot of believers seem to value their current extant definitely real life.

I’m most reluctant to post there, though the account is extant.

You're doing a systematic review of financial interventions on people with mental health and substance use concerns. "Extant" makes it sound like you were scouring ancient texts.

Your friends, family, co-workers know you and have a non-writing relationship with you that they value. They are likely to sign up for your fan list and likely to purchase your upcoming novel - to support that extant relationship. Will they read you ???

If giant otters didn't exist today, I would definitely be inclined to think these looked "off"... But extant giant otters do look off for an otter lol

To clear something up: women on the Internet sometimes get things made up about them, & sadly there has been an isolated incident. I'm 100% confident so if you can find an extant instance of me doing this alleged thing, I will give you £10,000. 😄 If you have concerns I'm open to good-faith questions

Hats off to the Wikipedia editor(s)/author(s) who went all out on this article about the extinct Stellar’s Sea Cow, did not expect nearly this much detail.

Never thought to ask which extant animal had the most similar poop (horses) or how long the sea cows’ penis was (very long).

Hey #Hopepit! For pitch/ promote day I'm going to offer my extant work: the Aces High Jokers Wild series. This is one path out of corporate control and into a solarpunk future. Shenanigans, solidarity and good trouble all the way along.

Surprisingly enough, buildings and motel are still extant operating under the same name.

And so it waits. Rooted and rotting. Affixed immobile to the desk of publications. You'd swear you could see it throbbing, the raw contempt pulsating outward. A full scale assault on senses pushed down for millennia. Fight or flight simply not enough to counter this extant threat.

Yeah, the root WḤD originally meant "only" and was distinct from the proto-Semitic root for "one." It just took over the numeral in all extant Semitic languages. That's why it follows the noun like an adjective.

This new work investigates rhizotaxy on 3 rhizomorphic lycopsids including the unusual Mississippian-aged Oxroadia. We highlight the development of rhizotaxy on a juvenile Oxroadia as well as on the extant Isoetes. If you’re interested check out academic.oup.com/aob/advance-...

extant seems redundant unless there are also reviews that take nonexistent literature into account
