This was so tough - between VII and IX for me personally, but I'd probably give the nod to VII for just... Absorbing with its world building and story even now (even without Remake trilogy) 25+ years later.

tfw i realize that "Lindblum" in FFIX was always a mangled romanization of the katakana for "Lindwyrm"
i mean "Lindblum" sounds more like a country's name to be sure but props to the FFXIV loc team for making it make sense regardless

LRP Itahana created some of my favorite character designs-- including my current icon (Long Hair Clavat as seen on the Crystal Chronicles OST cover) and of course FFIX. It's an end of an era, but I wish him so much success in freelance. He gave SE a magical touch that simply can't be replicated. 🥹
