FTR I think today’s Trumpian GOP is the most overly white nationalist version of an American political party since the Dixiecrats, but I don’t think it sprung up fully formed because millions of school children were so furious about the treatment of Romney in 2012 that they became Nazis.

I'm sensitive to claims of ageism when we ask for younger candidates, but what really frustrates me about older candidates running for office isn't their fitness to serve, but their obvious lack of succession plan. They put everyone at risk by clinging to power with no exit strategy.

Also ftr, I didn't know that was a nazi symbol (I wasn't familiar with the symbol at all), could buy that he didn't know it was when he got it, find it significantly less plausible that he only just found out, but at any rate I think that's one of those things where it's disqualifying regardless.
