I empathise, because I lived in a National Park and got 18/1, but then I moved back to civilisation (Ealing) and now I have Virgin Media 1000/100 and Hey Broadband 900/900 (and I could get BT 80/20 FTTC).

Was ist eigentlich #FTTH? 🤔 Das ist ein "echter" Glasfaseranschluss, Fiber To The Home bringt die #Glasfaser direkt in Deine Wohnung. 💡 FTTC & FTTB nutzen andere Kabel wie bspw. Kupfer, was die Geschwindigkeit beeinträchtigt.

Call from my business broadband provider. They are terminating their FTTC business products in 2 weeks. I pay £35 monthly for ~40mbps down & ~24mbps up with a static IPv4 address. They are offering a domestic service of 'up to' 30mbps with dynamic IP for £35. Static IP is extra! Not happy!

AM vs PM - broadband upgrade done with a fibre line to my house finally! I recall being astonished going from dial-up to 512kbps ADSL, being able to download a CD's worth of data in an afternoon (without interruption by the phone!). Today, it's about 12 seconds! #FTTP #Broadband

Yeah, I think it's on its way out. (I got bumped off a previous provider because my building has an internal copper wiring cabinet so it's FTTC only).
If it's just a case of a crappy router, you can use your own, even for providers like NowTV who make it difficult.

Io l'estate scorsa, durante la vacanza sul lago di Como, ho fatto lo switch da Eolo a FTTH Vodafone e accidenti: 700 Mb/s down, 250 up 😎 e spendo anche meno. Ma la copertura cambiava da paese a paese: pochi km più in là c'era ancora ADSL oppure FTTC. Ah, l'Italia che fa le cose ben pianificate 😅
