Cape Town, South Africa — Hundreds of people are feared dead as Tropical Cyclone Chido caused a trail of destruction in the Frenchterritory of Mayotte when it directly hit as a Category 4 equivalent storm this weekend. Chido, which is the most intense storm on record to make landfall on the island territory, fell just short of being a Category 5 at peak intensity, with sustained winds of over 155 mph.
