Overcrowding of the giant sequoias is another disaster waiting to happen. There are about 3 dozen trees in this 2020 photo. Had I taken the same photo 200 years ago, only one tree in this photo would have been present then. #giantsequoias #firesuppression 🌲🌎🔥

If coast redwood circles (aka fairy rings) presumably form via the adventitious sprouting from the base of a parent tree (L), then how do the giant sequoia circles form (R)? Giant sequoias only reproduce by seed. #redwoods #giantsequoias 🌎
