Democrats have to stop bailing out Republicans from facing the consequences of their own policies. And yeah, that means they have to stop sparing voters from experiencing what GOP government truly means.

Every time Dems step in, it only emboldens the GOP & they make it even worse the next time.
So Democrats get:

1. A CR that will prevent the GOP from facing the wrath of Americans for a shutdown over the holidays

2. A coupon for one (1) meaningless ACA vote that will fail

3. An end to the illegal RIF/SNAP moves that are already before the courts

Those all seem like wins for the GOP.

*SCHUMER SAYS HE IS VOTING 'NO' ON GOP BILL

I don’t have a clue. Dems offered the GOP a 1 year ACA subsidy compromise and the GOP told them to kick rocks.

Longest shutdown continues, I guess.

FOX: So you would ask Speaker Johnson to recall the House?

GOP REP. KEVIN KILEY: Not only would I, I've asked him to do it repeatedly. There's no justification. And honestly, it's Republican voters who should be most upset about this when they delivered a GOP majority and now that's being wasted

It may be past time to start doing demonstrations outside of GOP Congresspeople's local offices.
Can someone explain to me why we’re paying House Republicans to stay at home and do nothing? SMDH

If our air traffic controllers and TSA, as well as, other essential workers have to go to work without pay, then why in the hell are all these lazy, do-nothing Republicans getting paychecks?!

Due to the cruel, corrupt Trump/GOP, Americans suffered with the longest government shutdown in USA history! All so Trump/GOP could rip away food from the most vulnerable Americans & eliminate health care! Trump/GOP making everything unaffordable, expensive, & hurting Americans! Vote out Trump/GOP!

Sen. Ron Wyden is calling out the GOP for pushing to slip a nationwide backdoor abortion ban into the government funding bill. This is dangerous for women’s health care. We’ve already seen the consequences in states like TX, but I guess the GOP is intent on The Handmaid’s Tale.

I don't think it's cowardice. I think that they are OK with what the GOP is doing. The sooner folks reconcile with this, the better.
November 10, 2025 at 12:17 AM
Things will never ever get better if the GOP can do this every year without fail
November 9, 2025 at 10:05 PM
The politics of the shutdown:
*GOP had a strong opening position
*Undercut themselves with the RIFs and unnecessary cuts to blue states/SNAP
*Polls showed GOP getting most of the blame, no reason to assume that would change
*Dem centrists then folded on their key issue of ACA subsidies

Even more true today: Democrats are ripe for a base revolt like the GOP in 2015 when Trump went down the escalator.
November 10, 2025 at 2:43 AM
Dems fear the GOP base. The GOP fears the GOP base. Nobody fears Dems.
November 10, 2025 at 2:21 AM
lets assume the deal is as described and the GOP doesn't renege on any of it. that means

we get:
-gov't funded thru 30 jan
-snap thru 30 sep 26
-reverts staffing to 30 sep 25

GOP gets:
-De Facto repeal of Obamacare (the vote on ACA subsidies will fail. there aren't 12 gop to go along with it.)
Tentative Senate deal to end shutdown, multiple sources tell me & @frankthorp.bsky.social:

—CR through Jan 30
—Approps minibus
—Fully funds SNAP
—Reverses Trump’s shutdown RIFs
—Promise of Senate vote on ACA subsidies by Dec second week (details/outcome uncertain)
—Led by King/Shaheen/Hassan

Dems should be all over THIS, not caving on a shutdown and healthcare premiums on which the publicly currently clearly blame Trump and the GOP for.
At least some people’s lives have improved in Donald Trump’s America.

Gaslighting isn’t just for the GOP
November 10, 2025 at 2:29 AM
Considering Trump leads the GOP, really quite an achievement for the Democrats to be the dumbest party in DC
November 10, 2025 at 4:16 AM
Ah yes, the GOP gets to continue destroying the government, the Dems get a line for an email.
Kaine on why he thinks just getting a vote on healthcare is a win: "We're the minority party, but everybody will get to see who is standing for them when it comes to lowering their healthcare costs"
November 10, 2025 at 3:36 PM
True … you tell me …. seems like a corrupt GOP manoeuvre
November 7, 2025 at 8:52 PM
Establishment Democrats aren’t afraid of the GOP. They simply agree with the GOP in almost all the ways that count. And it is in those ways they do the most harm to the poor, to the sick, and to immigrants.
November 10, 2025 at 12:34 AM
Democratic Leadership just bent the knee and agreed to an "inshallah" deal with the GOP, who won't honor anything, much like last time.
