Just popped up on the Sounds FB group, Alan Moore's priceless interview with Hawkwind from Nov 1982, inc Dave Brock being kicked out of RCA's offices... (and yes, it's *that* Alan Moore)

I don’t know how many lists would feature both The Pastels and Motörhead but personally I see no contradiction.

Silver Machine, by Hawkwind, remains a superb song. Lemmy was a great singer.

There was also a period — which we may still be in! — when there were at least two different bands touring under the name Hawkwind. I saw one of them play philly back in 2017 or so. Don't ask me which one: I will die not knowing.

As good a Reading lineup as there EVER was.
I've accumulated a few b'legs of this lot.
The Mahavishnu set (John, Narada, Stu, Ralph) sounds like the highlight for me.
Abbreviated Yes set, not their best by their standards.
Caravan and Robin Trower are pretty good.
Hawkwind being Hawkwind.

...and a 1973 Hawkwind song, which features such magnificent lyrics as:
I’ve got an orgone accumulator
It makes me feel greater
I’ll see you sometime later
When I’m through with my accumulator

LPs, in order, I acquired from Autumn 1972 to the end of 1973. The first 3 were given to me by my dad prior to that... At 13 and 14, I was a big fan of Alice Cooper, Hawkwind and Uriah Heep... Still am...

'Doperider is a record of great and giving calm. The cover’s lettering suggests Hawkwind at their most planetary, but the record more often encourages an investigation of its immediate surroundings by way of some lysergically-tinged soundtracks'

The first time in my life the person at the record shop has said "That's quite an eclectic mix" when I've taken my haul to the counter. The Virgin Prunes debut EPs reissue, a Robert Mitchum LP & CDs by Sparks and Hawkwind. Oh, and some Beatles socks.
Not too proud to say it put a spring in my step.

Ah. Now. Let me explain............
This was my barber while living in Perth who was also the brother a good friend of mine, he was trying to convince me Hawkwind were good and every time I saw him he said he'd make a tape. This is said tape. Not sure I ever played it! 😂

The band I play in (The Fierce And The Dead) made a live album 10 years ago - it's not been available for a while - it is now! I'm quite proud of it and we played with Hawkwind. A lovely day.

Wow, what a cool, trippy song! Never heard of Hawkwind before. This feels like something I would’ve heard in the 60s or 70s. I wonder how I missed it.
