weitere ~5 wochen später: eine opnsense vm regelt inzwischen den gesamten netzwerk verkehr, in einer dmz läuft eine mail server vm die per tailscale (selfhosted per headscale) mit einem vps bei hetzner zwecks public ipv4 routing verbunden ist. 2026 wird das jahr von mailservern auf dem schreibtisch
~2 wochen später: auf einem lenovo m920q mit 16gb ram und 6-kern i5 läuft geräuschlos ein esxi hypervisor mit einer 2tb nvme ssd die per pcie passthru in einer truenas vm eingebunden ist falls es euch interessiert sorry falls nicht und damit guna
von den gesparten abo zwangsgebühren an die adobe evil corp werde ich mir einen kl lenovo thinkcentre kaufen und den als lokalen cloudspeicher einrichten

Gajo, usa o headscale, que é o open source "server" component do Tailscale. No computador/telemóvel vc usa o Tailscale app normal e "aponta" ele pro seu servidor pessoal headscale. Controle total da sua VPN e todos os benefícios do tailscale como roaming automático sem stress etc. Boa sorte!!!

If you really really want to, you can run your own version of our control plane by running an instance of headscale on your own infra and not having anything to do with our business operations at all.

Unfortunately it doesn't really make sense to implement Funnel in headscale, because it depends on relay servers to work, and headscale is self-hosted. If you're going to self-host it's just as easy to host your own public-facing relay using Caddy or whatever with none of the restrictions of Funnel.

c'est ce que je fais couramment avec mon mobile en mode point d'accès et tailscale+headscale sur une dediboite. attention, à ma connaissance tu ne peux pas faire de point d'accès avec le chip du raspi. mais une bonne clé usb wifi suffit.

Right, if you do it on headscale you’re running your own proxies so you don’t really need funnel anyway. Nothing really stopping Tailscale funnel from working with custom domains except abuse concerns — it’d immediately become a phishing service that we don’t have time to police.
