Eventually the school was relocated from Yellow River, IA to Turkey River, IA, the site of the first forced removal relocation (eventually there was a minimum of eight removals— the Hocąk of WI do not recognize the 1832 treaty as legitimate while the Winnebago of NE do)

I can tell you the first mission school founded under the federal government was an 1832 Winnebago treaty school built in Iowa 8 years before the major removals of Hocąk/Winnebago started in 1840

Winnebago Two-Spirit says they will meet people where they are. We know that knowledge was suppressed, so want to teach the Hocák traditions around our third genders. That’s why we do the workshops for free! But being ignorant & being willfully ignorant are two different things.

Attending a Trans Visibility Rally on Monday to bring & support one of our Hocak youth who will be a speaker. There’s so much harmful legislation in Midwest states right now and I fear for these Trans Two-Spirit youths safety everyday, but they are bold vibrant fighters!
