Mimi Cave’s #Holland / #HollandMovie is a mess. Suburban unease is well-trodden territory. Lame character construction. The aesthetics attempt to channel Sirkian-style Technicolor and melodramatic, orchestral score. But that doesn’t mix effectively with thriller aspects.

#Holland #HollandMovie is a sophomore slump for Mimi Cave after "Fresh". Both films have similar themes and messaging, but "Holland" suffers from being unfunny, a poor structure, and not successfully utilizing the whole Douglas Sirk aesthetic

Nicole was fantastic. I throughly enjoyed the movie.

I really enjoyed not knowing where the story was taking me. Very light and comedic tones for most of the film and then it takes a sharp turn with horror elements.
