Hard to describe the immaculate hospitality of this year’s IWGGMS. As I discovered last year, this community is an incredible intersection of all my interests. Instruments, retrievals, emissions, old friends and new friends. Air quality and greenhouse gases. This all gave me lots of hope! ありがとう

Alas IWGGMS is over but it’s been a great workshop. Can’t wait for the next trip to Shikoku!
All the fun of the IWGGMS fair. Today I gave a remote talk at IWGGMS-21 on studying semi-arid regions with GOSAT 🌍 Really enjoyed many great talks—though couldn’t catch them all due to the time shift. Grateful to be part of this community! #IWGGMS #GOSAT #RemoteSensing #NIES

Nice trip from Hiroshima to Takamatsu for IWGGMS. TIL that the cat that rides with Kumanaku the JR mascot is called Tabinyan.

Momocchi, a mascot for Okayama Prefecture, is based on the local folktale hero, Momotaro. Kumanaku, a yellow bear train station employee, is Japan Railways’ mascot for Okayama.
