.@NPR laid off 10% of staff -centuries of expertise- when CEO @JohnLansing, Board & bloated upper mgmt bungled Business 101 so badly they failed to project podcast ad revenues across cyclical downturns.
Now they replaced journos' work with airtime ATC plugs for Student Podcasts.

This AM @JohnLansing & @NPR Board I'm cringing through @MorningEdition's Youth Podcasts segment & wondering how many decades of journalistic/staff expertise were fired because senior execs still employed there gambled on podcast revenue without planning for cyclical ad revenues.

I wonder when NPR/ATC's leadership confused a few hosts/staffers' particular concerns with information which most empowers & serves millions of listeners? And I wonder how long listeners will support a public network whose flagship lists to self-interest?

To be blunt @JohnLansing, @NPR, @NPRNews -as well as @KCRW, @KPCC, @KQED & all affiliates who are apparently OK referring to a plurality of Americans in derogatory terms- why at *this* moment do you destroy your credibility with those America most needs to trust & learn from you?

Sad @johnlansing to realize that though I've been an @NPR @NPRNews listener/supporter since the 70's, the network I've loved dislikes me.
Hosts/guests call me by a derogatory term.
Guests deride my age/gender/ethnicity.
When folks who don't like who I am want my money, why give?
