Byrne did a good work in getting Kirby's creations back to the spotlight after Crisis.
Some of them slipped (Kamandi, Atlas,...) maybe because of Byrne's premature departure.

Despite the number of boxes diminishing over time, I still find good stuff. On this trip, I picked up an early run of Power Pack, Grendel: Black and White, 70s issues of Shade, Ragman, and Kamandi, and filled some gaps in my early 80s LSH and All-Star Squadron collections.

DC had some good & fun non-superhero stuff going on in general at the time. Warlord, Kamandi, Hercules Unbound, Tarzan, Starfire, Claw the Unconquered, Richard Dragon, Weird Western etc.

[I tend to think that if OMAC or THE DEMON had run 40 issues, they might also have developed into "the best one." But, well, KAMANDI had time for Kirby to explore, and a simple concept open to lots of variety.]
