That sucks. 🫤 Warby Parker was my top source before I got LASIK. Have you looked into Zenni optical? I remember having very good experiences with them and their products.

Yesterday I got my eyeballs cut open and my corneas burned off by a laser and now I can throw my glasses away.

Seriously though, if you’re sleeping on Lasik, just do it. My right eye feels normal and left feels a bit dry, and I swear I can see clearer farther than even with the best rx glasses

Lasik. And maybe bunion surgery? You’re probably going to be wearing shoes that don’t fit.

Then again… 9 up… however, I‘m beginning to wonder whether Jalen Hurts might need lasik or contact lenses…

I got my quote for lasik today, I’m so upset. 10 years ago I had a quote with insurance for $1000 out of pocket and maybe a $200 down payment! This is ridiculous! $1200 down payment is 33.33% of the out of pocket cost. WTF! Total cost of treatment is $5070! What is my insurance even good for?!

Sadly I've never been a lasik candidate. I have, as a former opthalmologist said "freaky night animal pupils" and would be guaranteed halos. Pass.

I'll just keep buying many pairs of very cute glasses. It's one of my few areas of over consumption. That and art supplies/tools.

I had lasik done to avoid bifocals 10+ years ago & it's held up!

Now I wear cute or colorful cheap reading glasses, but only for close-up work.

WFM!

I had Lasik. They were very thorough and I was well briefed about the whole process beforehand so there were no surprises. All I had to do was wear sunglasses for a few days afterwards because the eyes are quite sensitive to light for a while.

I was delighted with the results - still am!

Fuck LASIK, I got a dude next door with a military grade laser pointer and a course certificate from Khan academy in optometry who will do it for a can of bud light and a pack of pall malls.

and lasik surgery exists but iirc not everyone can have it? I know I did it before my first year of uni (so maybe... 2016? Oh god I'm old) but before I could they did some check ups and tests first I think?

I call cataract surgery "free lasik" - same benefits but covered by insurance as opposed to "out of pocket" lasik
