Laps create a closed circuit that gets fans to part with €15 and buy beer while seeing lots of action.
You learn the tactics the more you watch, it’s like the finale of a close one day race played out 2-3 times a race.
Wout and MVDP make it F1, when they’re not there, it’s way more fun.

Uhlig to me is a bit more like Del Grosso and MvdP, puncheur that can sprint. Sentjes is still on the Dev squad next year, plus only 20. And he's not racking up wins like Brennan, so I think it's fine not to consider him as a "real sprinter" for the main team just yet.

You bully him and isolate him? He goes from 100km as defence. You let his team ride and leave him alone? Only prime MvdP can match the savagery of his attacks in later stages. You try and get ahead early? He'll either come with you or use his team to work you to the bone before he catches.

any big cycling star can only be born in January (Remco, Mvdp), September (Pogacar, Van Aert, Ayuso, Skjelmose, Healy) or December (Vingegaard, Pedersen, Ciccone). noteworthy mentions are February (Gall, Uijtdebroeks) and October (Roglic, Milan, Ganna, Gaudu)

Cycling's problem is that the best 2 one day racers (Pog and MvdP) generally make good tactical decisions.
While their two main competitors being Remco and Pedersen are immune to any tactics apart from "pushing as hard as you can regardless of circumstances"
