Uki Uki always loved to play with her food. Leaning on the railing of the stairs, as her sisters divided and found there targets she watched hers like a hawk, watched how he weaved, how he moved, how he acted... and observed his true intentions with her card. He had intentions with everyone he interacted with, everyone did and she thrived on watching how someone truly viewed each person they spoke with. She watched as her target went from the Primordial Tiamat, bringing her oysters and wine personally... Justice. Seems the Hermit is slowly opening up to the suspect... a powerful ally. Uki Uki could see the benefit of having such a powerful ally. The Mo'o watched as he moved and greeted his boss, Okashi with a bow. The Star, no surprise there. Okashi loves each and every one of her bunnies equally, they are under her protection eternally unless they betray her trust... shame for them both. She continued to observe as she used the railings to guide herself to the stairs descending as she continued to watch him on the move, the suspect bumping into one of his Co-workers, the card in hand spinning and changing again to the Mo'o's surprise; it now showed The Sun. The mo'o watched as her prey and the moth he bumped into seemed to quickly banter with each other in a friendly rivalry sort of way. Curious, he really had all kinds of friends. Uki Uki began to descend the stairs, never losing track of her prey as it went over to the bar... the lizard sensed her card changed again, her brows shot up. "The Magician?" Uki Uki muttered under her breath, with an unmatched fixation, her prey had opportunity for a relationship only possible in his dreams. Uki Uki didn't know which she preferred more, the hunt or revealing the true feelings of the hunted to those who loved them. She curled her fingers and made the card disappear, changing her appearance with her magic to become someone else entirely.

In that moment as the sword was out of position, she lunged in, and shoved the second one right into his chest. "Now, you're-" before the Lizard could finish her thought, she was met with an open palm shove, pushing her off him easily. Her eyes went wide, and she hissed at the tanuki on primal instinct, "My spell should've paralyzed his body! How's he still fighting?! Much less standing!?" Uki Uki thought to herself as the tanuki began to slowly shuffle towards the mo'o keeping his sword in position to protect himself. She glowered at him, looking for a weak spot... noticing his unprotected legs. Changing her arm from one of the thin and weak moth limbs to a massive octopus tentacle, lashing it around his leg before he could react pulling him off balance, she quickly got up as he was dazed from landing on his back. Quickly flipping over and moving on all fours, she pounced ready to pin him down. Only to have herself knocked back from a massive wooden pole staff from one of the leafs he was hiding. He was faster, and more clever than she suspected. The tanuki staggered to his feet the pole from his back gone- but one in his hands, he was versatile too. As Uki Uki got to her feet, she noticed something; the way he held it, it was the exact same pose as one of her other suspects would use with their halbred, Sidra Set. Her eyes narrowed, "No wonder he caught me so quickly... he seemed to keep attention to detail and mannerisms, too." Uki Uki mused, then got an idea; "Are you really gonna hurt an unarmed lady?" Uki Uki questioned, Tycho glowered. "You're a shape-shifter, hardly defenseless." Tycho noted, his eyes scanning every inch of the fake moth's body watching for another tentacle trick. "That's true... the only problem for you is; you don't know which kind. You dont know what'll sear my flesh, and what will just make me retreat."

I'm always trying to raise more awareness about Hawaiian myths and folklore! I'd love to see more coverage of mo'o, menehune, or night walkers! In fact, that's one of the reasons I'm doing my own Lessons from Alola series.

The sun rises over Mokoliʻi islet, windward O’ahu. Moko, an older form of the word mo’o (lizard); li’i (small).

According to the Pele epic, the goddess Hiʻiaka killed a giant lizard at Kualoa. Part of its body fell into the bay: the islet is the tip of the tail sticking out of the water.

Basilisk: A serpent with green scales and an orange dorsal fin. Basilisks spew acidic venom to incapacitate their foes/prey.

Mo'o: A large aquatic lizard, typically found in lakes. Mo'o are highly territorial and can unleash scalding hot water from their mouths to defend themselves.

"It's all right. Where was I?" Stolas thought for a moment, "Oh yes. No purpose. It drove me into a uncertain maddness for a while. Then... the gods came to me, asking me to recreate the Web of Fate, a nigh impossible task without other God's of Fate, but instead of shifting some other gods positions to share the work with me... they gave me mystical creatures to work with, Changelings, Mo'o, Fae, Succubi and Incubi to work along side me in the recreation, I didn't expect it to work at all. But we managed to do it. To a certain extent..." Stolas noted his beak clicking. Tycho seemed to know what he meant, but before he could ask, the Demon lord continued; "There was an extraordinarily dangerous threshold of error in my opinion... the possibility anyone could become as fateless, as gods are at any given moment by pure chance, by actions taken upon them, by simply saying 'hello' to the wrong person and holding a conversation too long. But they were too busy putting things back in order to give a second thought to my concerns, and by the time they noticed I had been trying to do damage control..." He shook his head. "It was too late. The aware had every ability to evolve to a comparable state of existence on par with Gods and Demon Royals... just without the ability to warp reality to their whim. I can't imagine that kind of hell they all live in." Stolas shook his head. "So to say its the Spice of Life, well..." Stolas mused on the thought for a moment, his beak clicking again, his irises going from circular to minus symbols. "I don't know. It sounds right... but I don't see a purpose as to why let so much chaos continue going unchecked. Some that can leave wounds and burns on people who don't want to harmed. Including the Gods themselves. I know you can't give me the right answer as to why, but can you elaborate on your vision, tell me what makes it so... fun?" Stolas seemed to ask of Tycho. He scratched his neck uncomfortably at the question, it was... a lot.

Mo'o: A large aquatic lizard found primarily in lakes throughout Pou. Known for being aggressively territorial.

Leafrog: A species of frog that, as the name implies, has a leaf-like texturing all over its bodies. Primarily found in Vienta, it camouflages itself as a lead drifting through the water.

Mo'o have visited me every time I've gone back home. Obviously not in the form of large black-scaled water version that Ke'Akamai is modeled after, but as smaller beings to show me I was on the right path.

I still need to work on lore for them, but I definitely want to make them an official OC

Ke'Akamai Mo'o directly translates to "The wise shapeshifting lizard spirit." They are a representation of being Māhū and the role Aumakua play in our culture. Originally I wanted them to be a shark, simply cause I love shark. However, I couldn't find something I liked so I thought what else? +

So while Ray is a Miqo'Hroth, she is more a hybrid of two species than a representation of a mixed OCs
HOWEVER I was really inspired to make a Kanaka Maoli inspired OC and boy.... was it healing to take photos of them. I'm so happy I was able to c+ kanaka features into FF+
Ke'Akamai Mo'o is an Au'ra from FFXIV. They have reptilian eyes that are blue with a magenta hue around the slit. They are on face 2 fem Au'ra and are covered in black scale. Adorning their head is a haku lei with blue, red, and yellow flowers. They are sculpted to have traditional kanaka maoli features like a wide flat nose, strong brow bone, and light brown skin. Ke'Akamai is looking at the "camera" with a large smile to show off her razor sharp teeth.

Being a special division "private investigator" often means having to go around in disguise, sneaking about squeezing information out of people. With the abilities Mo'o have, this is much easier.
(Why is PI in quotes? They only handle very specific cases.)

Uki Uki watched from a distance as the prey weaved through the crowds... he wasn't intentionally staying in sight of others in fear of her. No, she knew when a prey was suspicious of the mo'o, he was just doing his job. Keeping everyone entertained and happy. That gave her an idea... but first, she'd need to change. It took her a while to find a remote location, then changed form; growing a long mane of white, large black eyes, growing a bit taller while she was it, giving herself wings, that she wrapped around her waste like an apron, and making her frame extra thin. Of course- she couldn't forget the extra arms and long antennas. In mere seconds she changed from a lizard into a moth, that moth she saw the tanuki having a small rivalry moment with. She knew the moth, a Demi-creation of the goddess Sukunahikona. She put one of her hands in front of her face, pulling an non-existent mask down in front of her face. Preparing to become the moth in every aspect. His smug attitude, his bar knowledge, ambidextrous hands, any question anyone had, she could answer. She had to have a run in with the moth before for unrelated crimes. Once she was in the right mindset she left her hiding spot and began to head out. All Uki Uki had to do was quickly find the tanuki again, and misguide him away from the crowd. Uki Uki managed to sneak back into the crowd, weaving through it with little interruption, getting a few drink requests which she took note of along with the gods who wanted them, writing near perfectly identically to Cloves. Thankfully, she didn't have to fulfill them. She managed to relocate the golden furred suspect. "Tycho, there you are." Uki Uki started doing a perfect impression of Cloves. The tanuki perked up, "Someone had a bit too much liquor, down the hall that connects to the Divine Library." She quickly lied, Tycho huffed, seeming a bit embarrassed for this imaginary person she made up on the spot. "Are they okay?"

Mo'o have gone through a lot of changes in the Series. Currently, I've landed on making them Private Investigators for the Heavens due to their role in the series and great hunting prowess.

We try to be creative with our pet names lol. We had a pair of Guinea pigs several years ago. AC and DC.

We also have a Crested Gecko named Toothpaste, a day gecko named Mo'o (Pronounced MoJo without the J sound) Mo'o is Hawai'ian for Lizard.

Why are the Jangmo-o line named after the Mo'o? In Hawaiian myth the Mo'o is basically a Hawaiian Dragon, but they are more like Hawaiian Lizard Trickster Spirits that are all Female and use their powers to dominate men. That's literally Salazzle
