#Multicast
Can you edit the vods at all before it goes up on YouTube? I ask because I haven't touched it but I have been manually cutting out my starting soon screen before uploading them to YT. This would save me so much time for days I don't multicast.

ensuring that multicast traffic is rapidly rerouted in the event of a failure. This document is a product of the Protocols for IP Multicast Working Group of the IETF. 4/4

MoFRR, this document extends the benefits of FRR mechanisms to multicast traffic, enabling enhanced resilience and minimized packet loss in multicast networks. The document outlines an optional approach to implement TI-LFA in conjunction with MoFRR for PIM, 3/4

mechanisms with Multicast-only Fast Reroute (MoFRR) for Protocol Independent Multicast (PIM). The TI-LFA provides Fast Reroute (FRR) protection for unicast traffic in IP networks by precomputing backup paths that avoid potential failures. By integrating TI-LFA with 2/4

This is why streaming is doomed. Too many users and everything crashes even if they are using OTT or IPTV setup with a multicast networking features turned on. With just normal tv broadcast, everyone gets a signal and everyone can watch. No problems.

So, at some point we'll have multicast TV and radio streams going all around the entire world. we already have things like that for radio but it's not multicast and so the load on the server is proportional to the listener base.

The nerds (that's us) need to start making webs of interconnected […]

I've noticed a new level of micro-targeting ads.

We've been bingeing Abbott Elementary and the Xfinity commercial with Frankenstein comes in all the time. There is a clip where he sits down to watch a sports multicast for a few seconds, and the screen shows active video with audio.

After two weeks of banging my head against this multicast routing lab, I finally found the problem. The default TTL for •all• multicast packets on Linux is 1. Of course, I overlooked the simple stuff in my troubleshooting, as one does. #NetEng #Multicast #Troubleshooting #LessonLearned #ThereAreDays

Da gibt es ja Multicast. Ohne Routing brauchst du ja keine offene Broadcast. 🤷

Thanks for making the effort! There is software that will "multicast" posts to Twitter/Bluesky/Insta from just a single post you write. Might make it easier for you to manage.

Another multiplayer learning session, another “meh” demo. But trust me, this cube is a certified multicast RPC arsonist! Had to make it sound cooler some how, lol… just wait until it spreads chaos across the map!😂
