To complement today's music post, here are a few stamp issues for Gustav #Mahler:

China, Scott #4479 (2017)

A pair of stamps from People's Republic of China issued in 2017. It is a monochrome sepia-colored engraved stamp. The left side of the stamp is taken up by a head shot of Gustav Mahler with his head turned to his left. In the background, on the right side of the stamp, is a page of music. The top margin of the stamp sheet is intact and contains a Chinese inscription with the English translation below it, in much smaller print, "Foreign Muscicians II," as this was the second series of stamps China issued honoring Western composes, the first being 7 years earlier, in 2010. A postage stamp issued in 1960 by Austria depicts a head shot of Gustav Mahler in left profile. It is an engraved stamp printed in a dark brown color. A postage stamp issued by Israel, in 1996, depicts a 3/4 length portrait of Gustav Mahler. It is printed in high-contrast black and whitewith some light blue and pinkish-gray shading on the face. Near the top is a line of music from his "Resurrection" Symphony #2. Below that is a blue circular image of the sun shining across the sky.

Playing off my music post, again, here is a stamp issued for the birth centenary of composer #CarlOrff. The stamp includes the opening notes of O Fortuna.

A stamp issued by Germany in 1995 for the birth centenary of composer Carl Orff. The design features a large wagon wheel in the center, at the north, south, east, and west points of which are characters from his work, "Carmina Burana." In the upper left is musical notation of the opening bars of "O Fortuna."

From 2007, one of an ongoing series of stamps from Great Britain depicting #ClassicRock album covers, this one reproduces 6 #Beatles album covers.

A postage stamp presentation pack issued by Great Britain in 2007, featuring 6 stamps reproducing 6 different Beatles vinyl album covers. Each stamp shows a stack of albums with the Beatles album being the topmost. The cover of the presentation pack is inscribed, "THE BEATLES Royal Mail Mint Stamps," with the typeface of "THE BEATLES" resembling that used on the White Album, though, on the White Album the word "The" only has an upper-case letter T, while the stamp packet has the word "THE" in all caps.
