DOJ removed the National Law Enforcement Accountability Database (NLEAD), which tracked misconduct among federal police officers. The database was removed in February 2025, just after the start of Trump's second term.

The Trump administration ordered the shutdown of the NLEAD, a database designed to track misconduct by federal police officers. This database was intended to help prevent officers with a history of misconduct ie BAD COPS from being hired by new agencies.

You're right about him being influential but not for the reasons you think. He will be the example of how not to nlead. For example, the necessity for candidates to present five years of personal tax records will be legislated instead of just being a convention that can be ignored.
