#nashvillebikeweather 12/3/25: cold. Terrible wind yesterday p.m. not sure why forcing people to walk on shelby EB is considered acceptable. I didn't see any detour signs or safe way through.

#Nashvillebikeweather 11/11/25: You might consider the a.m. bus. Main inconvenience was flat car tires last night from the cold. The Commerce bike lane closure at 6th is official (IDK for how long), which was more confusing since typically people just park there illegally without penalty.

#Nashvillebikeweather 10/14/25: Pretty great. OTOH, just got a HUB response regarding the left turn signal at Spring and N 1st SB that bikes can't activate. "you cannot go left must use ped crossing"-which means they think I should walk both west and south, across two intersections, with a bike...

#Nashvillebikeweather 11/5/25: GET OUT THERE. Infrastructure on 14th made my route post-appointment very pleasant. Then there is Demonbreun. Considering that 1/4 of the traffic this morning was cyclists (no lie), and 1/6 was pedestrians, it's time for some safer design.& why No Right Turn sign @8th?

#Nashvillebikeweather 11/6/25: Um, real nice. BOLO for an oversized red Dodge truck, plate EYEEE, around N 1st and Oldham. Honked, buzz passed at high speed, almost rammed the car in front, etc. Bad bad. Should never drive again but this is 'Murica so he'll be fine. (Happened yesterday 5:05p or so).

#Nashvillebikeweather 11/12/25: pretty much ideal. But the Church bike lane is totally unprotected and there were totally cars in it. Wonder if there is an obvious solution.

#Nashvillebikeweather afternoon edition (delayed by kitchen chores): as perfect as August gets, but wind and drivers both appeared especially high at 5 pm. Caution needed, as usual.

#Nashvillebikeweather 10/15/25: Seems cold until the first climb. To the tune of the Beatles: "Will Woodland bridge still be speeding, will Woodland bridge still be needing-safety improvements-when I'm 64." Needs work, but at least I tried.

#Nashvillebikeweather 10/27/25: Whoever first said "there is no bad weather, only wrong clothing" was of course completely lying, while I appreciate the underlying attitude.

#Nashvillebikeweather - It's assertively and suddenly turned cooler. Average speeds are up. Riders will want socks, e-bikers may want a light jacket. Enjoy.
August 26, 2025 at 1:24 PM
#Nashvillebikeweather 11/20: Have 3 guitars and 2 bags, so the highway it is. Averaged 4 mph on I-40, my flat walking speed. I don't know how people tolerate this. Have rain gear for the afternoon (which I neglected because cars make me lazy.)

#Nashvillebikeweather 9/16/25: Was out of town for a minute. First commute back, immediately screamed at/flicked off at the red light at Woodland and 1st. Fancy dressed lady, fancy SUV. Couldn't even get one pleasant ride in. Probably taking the bus tomorrow. Also it may never be sweater weather.
September 16, 2025 at 1:23 PM
#Nashvillebikeweather 10/22/25: Get out a scarf and gloves. It is time. Also, Sherwin-Williams may have permanently lost my business, after repeated brainless buzz passes and honks on Demonbreun. Drivers need to grow up.
October 22, 2025 at 8:16 PM
#Nashvillebikeweather 1/7/26: GET OUT THERE THIS AFTERNOON. You know what's best for you, and it's that.
January 7, 2026 at 7:51 PM
#Nashvillebikeweather 8/27 a.m. report. Clear and lovely weather again. Drivers have transformed their rage at not being engaged to T Swift to rage at bike commuters who are also not engaged to T Swift. They are also religious today-They do not believe crosswalks exist, so they do not exist.

#Nashvillebikeweather 10/8/25: Maybe it's sprinkling a little, maybe not. Light gloves or your thinnest jacket may be useful, finally. The Dunkin employees at Elizabeth Duff Center are shockingly friendly. And you deserve that donut.

#Nashvillebikeweather 11/14/25: Nice nice nice. But the cost at Firestone of 4 TPMS sensors in your car is the same as a whole basic commuter bike. Cars are ridiculous and overcomplicated.
November 14, 2025 at 7:56 PM
#Nashvillebikeweather 12/9/25: Yikes. Double up those gloves. And it's chest cold season. Dressing is tricky when it's below freezing and you've got your bike, but the Wego 7 is heated to Death Valley in June vibes.
December 9, 2025 at 2:22 PM
#Nashvillebikeweather 9/23/25: (Delayed one day due to federal cuts or whatever-and this is a free service.) Got wet. Still better than driving in the rain. If you rode anywhere this month, treat yourself. Donut, shoes, mid-life crisis Corvette..It is not easy to continue doing in this hostile city.
September 24, 2025 at 1:40 PM
#Nashvillebikeweather: 8/28/25 7:22 am. Reporter very tired. Weather perfect, experience imperfect. On S 1st (25 MPH limit, designed for 45, with no plan from @nashvilledot.bsky.social
to fix), a Lexus lady hit reporter with projectile. Horse doo blocking Seigenthaler ramp was the cherry on top.
August 28, 2025 at 1:01 PM
#Nashvillebikeweather 1/12/26: Get a balaclava and the mountain weight gloves. But the real issue is the people who are blasting through red lights at 30 mph. Yes, this just happened. Also, we should all be staying home since half the country is ill, but here we are.
January 12, 2026 at 2:45 PM
#Nashvillebikeweather 10/9: YOU CAN WEAR A LIGHT SCARF. And gloves. It's not necessary, but finally, you can. And I did. It was not necessary. But I did anyway.
