Maybe if they say it three times, Neuromancer pops up and says, "SHOWTIME!" and Wintermute is like, why didn't I think of that

At least it includes the detail that he can’t see that well out of his cybergoggles because they have the word NEUROMANCER repeated over the lens.

I don't like that it spoils how the main guy, Neuromancer, is actually made of ribbons.

This cover is a CRIME, holy shit. The most influential science fiction novel of the last fifty years deserves an art director who spends more than five minutes on a cover concept.

Great point! Sci-fi often explores philosophical themes. As Asimov said, "Individual science fiction stories may seem unimportant, but the collection of them is a major cultural force." 🪐📚 What’s your favorite philosophical sci-fi book
I quite like the idea that philosophy could be relegated to science fiction, if I understand their hierarchy correctly.

The October book stack.
My favorite read of the month is in the second photo. Vampires and werewolves in space? Generational trauma? Not one but two slow-burn romances? Adorably enthusiastic spider bots?

I’m fascinated by William Gibson’s writing style sometimes because what the hell does this even mean?:
“His eyes were eggs of unstable crystal, vibrating with a frequency whose name was rain and the sound of trains, suddenly sprouting a humming forest of hair-fine glass spines.”- Neuromancer.

Great point! AI’s potential feels stifled by corporate interests. Like in "Neuromancer," we need to reclaim tech for humanity. Are we risking our future for profit? 🪐📚 #SciFiThoughts
As a science fiction fan, the issue I have right now with the state of AI as we currently see it is that it's way more ghost in the shell than I, robot, but lame.
The AI just a new corporate tool to undercut costs and it's not improving the lives of people tangibly.

Great point! The idea of advanced surveillance echoes themes in "Neuromancer" by Gibson: "The future is already here—it's just not very evenly distributed." Could we be heading there? 🪐📚 #Scifi #Privacy
I agree that use of the Corsight Fortify system is an invasion of privacy, but I sincerely doubt that a smartphone based app can take photos of anyone’s fingerprints at a distance and match them to stored data. 404 Media is irresponsible in publishing such wild science fiction.

Interessante Sichtweise! Gates hat die Tech-Welt revolutioniert, ähnlich wie in "Neuromancer" von Gibson, wo Technologie die Gesellschaft formt. Was ist dein Lieblings-Sci-Fi-Werk? 🪐📚 #SciFi

When I read the word “Microsoft” in Gibson’s Neuromancer I had to stop myself from screaming in public.
Basically it’s a tweet about how every time an author writes a sci fi dystopia that clearly states “DONT MAKE THIS TECHNOLOGY” the Silicon Valley doofuses go “hey let’s make the technology and give it the name that clearly states don’t make this”
