#NoDrillingWhereWereLiving
This is a devastating blow to public health, clean air, and California’s climate goals.

We’re not giving up. We’ll keep fighting to protect our communities from fossil fuel pollution.

Kern County is responsible for an enormous 70-80% of California’s oil and gas production. However, Kern’s image as an oil county is quickly changing… (🧵)

This poses serious health risks to Kern residents, who already breathe the worst air in the country.

We need community members, concerned Californians, and health and environmental groups to come together to stop this dangerous pollution and climate bomb. The Kern County Board of Supervisors will meet to vote on the ordinance on June 26.

Today, LA council members could vote to phase-out toxic neighborhood oil drilling. History has its eyes on you @PaulKrekorian @BobBlumenfield @Kdeleon @MRodCD7 @CurrenDPriceJr. Vote public health before Big Oil's wealth. #NoDrillingWhereWereLiving

An important motion to advance a city-wide phase out of oil production has to clear one last LA City committee before it can be voted on by the full City Council. 📝Sign onto our letter here📝 telling @LACityCouncil #NoDrillingWhereWereLiving https://bit.ly/3Hyn8Qe @STAND_LA

Let's phase out toxic oil extraction in LA neighborhoods by declaring it a nonconforming land use.

On 3/25 at 6PM we will meet w/ @LACityCouncil members to discuss a citywide phase-out of oil drilling. Big Oil has had its vice grip on LA Black & Brown communities for far too long. RSVP at http://tiny.one/townhall. Let's #EndNeighborhoodDrilling.

The science is overwhelming: living near active oil drilling is incompatible with healthy communities. @CD6Nury, @PaulKrekorian will you defend LA’s frontline communities and implement a 2,500-ft buffer to protect public health & safety from pollution? #NoDrillingWhereWereLiving

We demand a 2500ft buffer and #NoDrillingWhereWereLiving! During a pandemic that’s already targeting the lungs of LA’s Black and Brown communities, toxic oil pollution in neighborhoods is unconscionable. Environmental justice is life or death. @Mike_Feuer, release the report!

#TBT to last summer's opportunity to dance knowing that the Jefferson Drill Site would be closing! It's been quite the process advocating to shut down this site, and we are on our way to seeing new spaces safer for residents and the environment. #nodrillingwherewereliving

There has been a full week of workover rig activity at the Jefferson Drill Site plus one toxic chemical truck delivery. There have been 84 days of rig activity since the Oct 2017 zoning case won more protections for the site. #nodrillingwherewereliving #endneighborhooddrilling

The City of LA's decision to end their lease with 3 of 21 wells at AllenCo is a small step in the right direction. EJ communities still face toxic impacts of oil drilling, & we need a total end to O&G operations to ensure clean, safe futures for all #NoDrillingWhereWereLiving
