The Bill is still at pre-legislative stage, and it can be fixed.

A clear solution exists:
• retain the Climate Act consistency duty
• remove legislative “deeming” of compliance
• require climate compatibility to be assessed, not asserted

Submissions to the Oireachtas committee are still open.

The Ombudsman for Children’s Office has raised concerns about proposals to ban under-16s from using social media.

Speaking at the Oireachtas Children’s Committee, the office said the measure could shift responsibility away from technology companies.

Not a lot of people do. The Oireachtas website in particular isn't the most user friendly. Thanks for taking the time to check it out. I hope you give the letter-writing a go.

I'm beginning to think next week's appearance of (most of) the major social media platforms before the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Tuesday is going to be little more than a joint PR exercise for the introduction of age verification laws by both the platforms and members of the committee.
Sitting across the Oireachtas Children's Committee on online safety for children.

Very much getting the impression that a lot of politicians are reaching for the Under-16 ban. Momentum behind that rather than a deeper understanding of platforms, algorithms and any alternative view.

I'd very much like the politicians at the Joint Oireachtas Committee next week to ask Meta's representatives *why they are developing a sexbot for their users in the first place???*
