Hi, today I decided to keep animating this other shoot and continue with the TV animation tomorrow so I can rest a little bit of it, I finished the raw animation and started the clean.

First up is Claire - All the Way Through! This was done mostly using auto-inbetweened linework in OpenToonz.
It shows.
There are a few shots I still really like though. I remember being proud of the credits scene. It still holds up.

i really want to give opentoonz a shot. but i just tried a test animation and renaming a layer somehow deleted my entire drawing (thankfully just 1) from it and i don't know why ? and then i couldn't load anything from the filepath for the old layer name. so it is a temperamental beast

I was just directed towards OpenToonz as a potential alternative to Adobe Animate, and I'm probably going to download that (It's free! Yay!) And see how that feels to work with compared to my current programs.
Hopefully, well enough to finish this current cartoon by January, at least.

im trying to move away from krita for animation so now I'm on an uphill battle against OpenToonz.
it took me longer to learn how to render and save than to actually make the animation

Gonna try to take some time to fuck around with some little animations... is something like OpenToonz worth the time to learn for small stuff, or should I just stick with using Clip Studio, since I already have the full version.. 🤔

No, I definitely agree. Coming from Opentoonz, which has a pretty daunting interface, I thought dreams would be more user friendly. It's hard to tell what is hidden behind gestures and what just isnt included in the software (hopefully yet)
