Openreach FTTP build update for October 2025
Openreach has published an update to its programme build, which reports the status of its full fibre exchange build programmme. ISPReview spotted the new release, which includes data up to October 2025. The BT OpenReach fella is a scouser, and definitely a Liverpool fan.
He's just clocked the Utd coasters on the coffee table.
He's very subdued, bless 😁

Is there a worse #broadband provider than #EE? Almost a week without WiFi now because of a fault on their end. No alternative provision sent. No updates. 50min customer service chats that go nowhere. Buck passing to OpenReach and 3rd parties. No proper compensation. A disgrace.

Yeah, I was a bit, erm, surprised by that too… One of the other jobs I’ll ask the Openreach engineer about when they send someone who can do the job is to remove the Openreach plate in the front bedroom!

Oof, I’m sorry. We got told after 3 visits from Openreach that we just can’t get fibre due to the downstairs flat’s conservatory blocking access, so we’ve had to pay through the nose for Gfast instead. 🫠
Hope yours is at least fixable!

Absolute 10/10 experience this morning with Openreach. Moved into our new house a few weeks ago, earliest date they could give us was the 17th, which we pushed back to today.
Engineer arrived and says “Oh, can I see the back? It’s got to be rear fed. Yeah, can’t do that, flat roof.”

It's very difficult to find a real person to speak to at BT or Openreach. I don't think they've worked out how to avoid cutting off 1,000s of alarm users, yet it could result in deaths.
It's just one example of the tech enthusiasts' false expectations, like having cashless society.

He left the van to assess the progress of the foundations I think, but once the BT Openreach engineer arrived it was less easy to peer out the window at what was going on! Apparently he didn't do much of anything the previous day either.

After a week of intermittent broadband discovered cause. I had signed up for Halo service from BT so a mobile data link had kicked in but mobile reception poor. Spent c. 2 hours on mobile on Thurs mostly on hold. They said not their issue so would arrange OpenReach to come.

I'd rather drag my ballsack over broken glass than use TalkTalk, but that's because I was spoiled from the time I lived in an OpenReach area and could use Andrews & Arnold ISP.
Now, I'm in a Virgin monopoly street and... well...
Remember what I said about my ballsack and broken glass?

Ofcom consulting on changes to how Openreach 80/20 product priced
The Telecoms Access Review is set to govern how Ofcom regulates the market in the period 2026 to 2031 and one proposal included in this was to force the pricing of the 80 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload service from Openreach so that price rises would not exceed inflation. Today a consultation has opened […]
