Generally it's considered wise practice to pair Norse pagan symbols (such as the elder futhark runes) with other identifiable symbols associated with the Left or with queer culture. Bindrunes can also be good because they avoid specific ones people think of with the far right (Othala and Algiz).

Of course it may just be coincidental and sloppy graphic design, but the decision to render the Venus symbol in a runic style, rather like the far right use of the Othala rune seems like a coded message to me. I have never seen the circle as anything like this before

the Totenkopf, iron cross or Othala Rune had some resemblance to innocuous symbols or might have been used in other contexts so they may have required a bit more knowledge or context to identify. I still think that if you got a tattoo, you would at LEAST research it on the back end. The story is BS

World War II, this symbol, the Odal or Othala rune, was used by several SS divisions, most notably the 2nd SS Panzer Division “Das Reich”. The Othala rune was associated with Germanic and nationalist symbolism and was repurposed by the Nazi regime to signify strength, resistance, and nationalism.

Unsafe doesn't mean we can't use it. It means we should be very careful. Othala was used for 30 years to terrorize immigrants in Germany, Nederland, and Austria. It's actually an Illegal symbol in Germany as a result. Displaying it openly and recklessly gives cover the those who appropriate.
