Admittedly my job search failings haven't been great for my self confidence. The crickets from legit dozens of roles I should be overqualified/uniquely qualified for, or getting to what I assumed was the final stage in the hiring process multiple times to be ultimately rejected was taking its toll.

US federal government used to get overqualified people to work for less money, because of a mix of civic pride & stability. Musk & Trump & their crowd of sycophants have destroyed that: from Doge to Shutdown this year has been hellish for anyone left or considering joining. We will lose so much.
