Clearly a strong, vibrant, fully cognizant man in the prime of his life who has no debilitating physical or mental conditions. His hair is also completely normal and looks nothing like the collapsing outer later of a skein of thin polyester thread that's been emptied from the middle

Since Kuriko DIYs her clothes I think she has the choice of adding frills to everything, but she doesn’t like the texture on her skin so she sticks to more body hugging material like denim, polyester and such. Plus it looks more erotic…

#acheswan There is nothing at all remarkable about the party. It is unquestionably identical to a thousand other parties held in a thousand other trashy houses, campus-adjacent and poorly kept. The thudding of a heavy bass drowns out any attempt at a melody, and a zombie slathered in realistic gore mingles with a nurse in a short shift, a black cloaked vampire with jutting false teeth dancing in a corner with a flapper in a shimmery dress.

Black Swan, ostensibly dressed as a nun, though of the "sexy" variety, lingers on a couch near the edge of the festivities. Bored, yet too weary to get up and leave this travesty. Everyone else is on their way to drunk or already there, their cheap polyester costumes shining as they move, static cling everywhere.

And then she sees her. That damned philosophy grad student, mysterious and elusive and fascinating. Acheron, she calls herself, and a woman who goes by Black Swan hardly has room to judge another's moniker.

Tall, slender, and androgynous, Acheron moves with an unfair grace and the careless unselfconsciousness of a beautiful woman who has no idea how beautiful she is. Her long dark hair spills over one shoulder like a cascading river, longer than the little strap around her middle that holds a pair of cheap bat wings to her back. She's also wearing two red sequined horns, so perhaps they're meant to be demon wings.

Black Swan scoffs, annoyed. Acheron obviously hit up Spirit of Halloween an hour before the party and grabbed whatever was on the closest rack. How typical of her academic rival. If they were being graded on this party, surely her name would be at the top of the rankings for once.

"Hi," Acheron says, plopping down beside her like they're the best of friends. That's all she says, because she likes to keep Black Swan guessing.

"Hello yourself," Black Swan says. "Lovely costume. Are you a bat demon?"

"Oh, this?" Acheron touches the demon horns with a faint air of surprise, like she forgot she was wearing them. "Just a regular demon, I suppose. And you're… a nun?"

"That's right."

"I have a confession to make," Acheron says, oddly intent. "Will you hear it?"

Black Swan considers telling Acheron that nuns don't actually hear confessions, only priests do. But she's too curious about what Acheron might have to say.

"Of course," she says.

"I like you," Acheron says, like it's nothing at all, like she's not turning Black Swan's world completely upside down with nothing more than her fingertips, brushing a bit of hair that's escaped the costume's veil.

"You're very frank tonight, Miss Acheron," Black Swan says, trying to hide just how thrown off she is by the sudden confession. "You don't know me all that well."

"My emotions don't lie," Acheron says. "I trust them more than I trust what I know. But if you're not interested, I will—"

"Don't you dare." Black Swan grabs her wrist and tugs her close before she can even think of getting up, walking away.

When Acheron kisses her, its as though the wild party, the din of students with their laughter and chatter, the vibrations of the bass, fade away to a distant nothing. And all that matters is Acheron, her lips on hers, her slender body in the circle of Black Swan's arms.

"Happy Halloween," Acheron murmurs against her lips.
