Proud to join Rep. Rosa Delauro & Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand reintroduce the FAMILY Act to finally give new parents and caregivers time off without sacrificing their livelihood.

It's well past time for #PaidLeaveForAll.

Something I love about this platform is #PaidLeaveForAll applies to all of it—improving child (and family/community) health outcomes, affording all workers financial security and dignity, giving small business a more level playing field with big employers, and protecting care workers’ rights.
Fran is running on the politics of care: who we care for, how we care for them, and how we all can realize the lives we deserve. To that extent, this campaign is about how we care for:

• Children
• Workers
• Small businesses
• Ourselves

(it technically anagrams to "COWS")

Rep @delauro.house.gov & @kirstengillibrand.bsky.social just reintroduced the FAMILY Act!

27% of the workforce has paid family leave from their jobs. The FAMILY Act would address America’s paid leave crisis & benefit working people, families, and businesses.

All working people—in schools and elsewhere—deserve time off to care for their families.

The newly reintroduced FAMILY Act would give workers up to 12 weeks of income when they take time off—and enable the lowest-paid workers to earn up to 85% of their normal wages. #PaidLeaveForAll

While the far right is worried about the nation’s birth rate, we’re worried about the economic conditions that make folks not want to have kids like a lack of #PaidLeaveForAll. The FAMILY Act would help would-be parents take the time they need without compromising their livelihood. #ForFAMILY

Absolutely. We urgently need to grow our safety net of policies that build economic security for families like #PaidLeaveForAll. But our leaders are catering to the whims of billionaires and leaving ordinary people behind.
This isn’t the time to be cutting the federal government. This is the time to grow the economy by investing in needed new programs like paid leave. Every elected official should be putting working families first — not billionaires.
