#Parakeets
Parakeets and jackdaws were making a real racket in my garden. Turns out a sparrowhawk had caught a pigeon.

One of my only two pictures of the free-roaming rose-ringed parakeets in Cologne. #BirdofTheDay #least
Not hard to find, but I've only been to the city once since I started birding.

5/7 Interestingly, this study has revealed that parrot species with larger brains are worse at accurately imitating sounds. Species with smaller brains, such as parakeets and cockatiels, performed better.

Throw back from living in Surrey, England and getting groups of ring necked parakeets in the garden, don’t see these at all in South Wales #photography #parrot

I haven't got a lot for the #fighting theme by @robcrank68.bsky.social for today's #BirdoftheDay, but these two parakeets were having a good go in a London park earlier this year. I don't think they were trying to kiss...

This #BirdOfTheDay turned out easier than I expected. Here are Blue Tits, Starlings, and Parakeets #Fighting over important bird stuff.

In his 20 years in Chelsea, he kept a bull, armadillos, chameleons, dormice, hedgehogs, kangaroos, lizards, marmots, a mole, monkeys, owls, parakeets, peacocks, a raccoon, salamanders, wallabies, a woodchuck – and, of course, a marvellous cube-crapping wombat

Perfect. When I was there recently ….think it was that park….a girl had taken some nuts and was getting parakeets to land on her hand.
Green suits you so give it a go

Tree full of parakeets down the road today! It's an Indian bean tree - they love the long pods.

6) Yiddish is actually doing just fine. Kids are learning it. Anybody who tells you it’s endangered doesn’t know how desperate things are on the Jewish language front. See attached Adams passage from his book about endangered species.

They’d have extinct animals right? I wanna hang out with a bunch of passenger pigeons and Carolina parakeets.

Pacific parakeets,Psittacara strenuus, bright green parrots native to Central America. They like forests & woodlands, feeding on fruits and seeds. Social and noisy, they form flocks and nest in tree cavities & have strong bonds with their fledglings

Since this is online I can't tell if you are kidding or not lol. I have two parakeets, not "bird" as in the English slang for a woman.

I am not blue parakeets, Ser Jory. Do not suggest I'm without the Bone Pit dragon.

OK, Gavin, I did my part.

A walk across Wanstead Flats in late afternoon was an eye opener: Ring-knecked Parakeets flying at 1-12 feet in groups of 20-50 heading to roost, well over a hundred birds in one group. Spectacular and disturbing, I can’t believe they’re not out competing native birds. #essexbirding
