An autumnal view at the entrance to a forest at the Lowther Estate, near Penrith, Cumbria on a cloudy October day. A wide path is completely covered with a carpet of fallen leaves in various shades of brown mainly copper and some yellow and gold. A wooden fence with an opening for a cattle grid and a wooden gate on the right allows access to the forest. The path runs away into the distance and is bounded on both sides by tall trees which have leaves in various shades of green, yellow and brown. In the background there are glimpses of the white-grey sky behind the trees.

The old road between Kendal and Penrith near Shap in Cumbria. Probably used during invasion by Jacobite Rising in 1715 and subsequent retreat. The section of the A6 near Shap was built in 1726. Another rebellion and invasion in 1745 probably then used the new road.

Polestar have opened an Urban showroom in Penrith in Western Sydney, despite the jokes of "the riff" a LOT of EV buyers are from there. its like they have a longer commute or something.

Arnison's department store Of Penrith is closing in December - after 275 years of trading. A great shame. The business is still profitable. Hopefully someone will take on this grand old lady.
