BERRY NICE: New photos of #cranberries being harvested in the #NewJersey #Pinelands. The American cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) is native to New Jersey, where they thrive in the sandy, acidic soils of the million-acre Pinelands.

More than 488,000 acres have been permanently preserved in the state Pinelands Area of New Jersey, including an additional 5,367 acres that were protected in Fiscal Year 2025, according to an annual update that was provided during yesterday's Pinelands Commission meeting. 🌎 🌳

Earlier today, the state Pinelands Commission voted 9-0 to approve a package of amendments to the Pinelands Comprehensive Management Plan, including one that will greatly reduce permitted development intensity in the Black Run watershed in Evesham Township, Burlington County. 🌎
