couldn't get enough pictures for Plagiocephalus, because I'm not sure yet I can sustain this project non-commercially :( means I can't use your great pictures for now either.

This is a male stalk-eyed #fly from Costa Rica. Females lack the hammerhead while males "compare sizes" for a chance to mate. Evolution is magical 🪄

There are many fly families with stalk-eyed spp. Some with their antennae at the end of the stalks, whilst others the antennae is still on the head
