The pausing of the #PolariPrize is the result of their actions. LGBTQ+ inclusive communities don't include those who support a hierarchy of women's rights. There's no tension between freedom of speech & inclusive communities. You can say what you like, nobody has to give you a stage to say it though

Was briefly worried I could have read some John Boyne by accident, but I looked up his books and I wouldn't touch that shite with a ten foot barge pole. Do better #PolariPrize

#PolariPrize people just wussed out: “We do not eliminate books based on the wider views of a writer, we regret the upset and hurt this has caused,” adding, “We can at times hold radically different positions on substantive issues.”
