You can get into decent quality printers for less now. I have an old Prusa MK3S+ that I use constantly and it is indeed a trooper but hard to overlook the likes of the Bambu A-series that's dirt cheap.

Really depends on definition of cheap and purposes, I am using two printers from Prusa, one FDM (with filament) and one SLA (with liquid resin). As FDM printer I am using MK4 model and I highly recommend it. It is kinda of affordable and just works, which not always the case with 3D printers.

We bought a Prusa Core One kit 💕
It took us about 10 hours to assemble,
(One day).
I got the parts ready and Marius built it, kitties also helped.
It was so cool watching it print the first Benchy 💕⛴️ So Happy 🥰
It felt way faster in real life than what it does on videos.

自分はPrusa MK3が出たときに、3Dプリンタは完成したと思っていたし、今後はこのプリンタをひたすら保守しながら長々と使っていくかと思っていたけど、実際のところ全然すぐ過去の機械になっていった。
もちろんプリンタ本体の技術的にはほぼそこで完成してたけど、そこから使い勝手はどんどん上がっていって世代交代も続いて、当時Prusaに見出した「ずっと使える保守性」なんてまだ全然気にしなくてよかったと、今になって思う。

しかもPrusaのアップグレードキットを買う金で、Bambuのエントリー～ミドルくらいまでの機種は選べちゃうのもな…
開発ペースも比じゃなくて、BambuはCORE Oneの手動フラップのような不評点をすぐに改善して新型として出してくる。
一方でPrusaはリードタイムすら守れてない。残念ながらこの辺りは本当に擁護できない。

X1Cはもう放流できないみたいな投稿をチラホラ見る。Bambuは本当に商売うまいなと思う。
(進化が早いために)ほぼ消耗品な3Dプリンタにおいて、リセール市場を考えるメリットなんてメーカ側には本当にない。しかもX1Cは別にいい製品やったし、もうBambuの新型は買わんとなる人もいない。
一方で旧シリーズからのアップグレードに対応するという形でそこに注力してきたPrusaは本当に聖人やし、その思想めっちゃ応援してるんやけど、商売としては辛いなと思う。

Spent the day with an ERCF MM board.
For a #3dprinting project of mine, to have a MMU that is independent of printer firmware.
Prusa MMU only works with Prusa machines
Bambu AMS is essentially just for Bambu
SMUFF I have had no luck with
3D Chameleon needs more work

3d printer needed a new board. Dealing with Prusa support to resolve the issue was a frustrating month and a half long experience. Fun suggestions included "rotate your extruder".
They did send a board in the end though. Printer is back up and running!

I printed this piece for my Prusa i3 Jalopy Rebuild. The Adjustable X-Idler has always been a bit of a joke in old brittle PLA, quickly disintegrating every time. But with modern PETG a little bit of material goes a long way, so this turns out to be a pretty sturdy part!

Yeah, that should work well. I have the P1S + AMS combo and a Prusa MK3s. The A1 looks like a great machine, but I think I have enough right now haha. I just tore apart my resin printer since the masking LCD broke and I didn't like the thing anyway. nasty ass resin lol.
