#QE2
But when QE2 was on the throne Andrew was for some time second in line. Imagine that. Monarchy, eh.

Sandringham, huh....wasn't that QE2's favorite family vacation gathering spot for riding, hunting & gathering and still having 'servants' on site? And doesn't that area also have SEVERAL (more) REALLY BIG homes that andy-the-deviant may get to choose from? 😠🤔

They brought it on themselves. QE2 and Charles have both tried to protect Andrew from the worst consequences for his actions, hoping the whole thing would be a dark chapter that fades away but isn't fatal.

If Charles were smart, he'd call for full accountability of Andrew. Like, right now. Today.

Charles' coronation in 2023 helped somewhat: about a third of the British public watched, along with a half a billion viewers worldwide. Not on the level of QE2 but certainly respectable numbers.

But ever since then? Not great.

Then came 2018, which easily sustained public support with Harry and Meghan's wedding and the birth of Louis.

There was substantial sympathy for Philip's death in 2021 and QE2 celebrated her Platinum Jubilee in 2022 (70 years on the throne).

Three months later, she died. More public sympathy.

In 2012, QE2 celebrated her Diamond Jubilee (60 years on the throne). Another huge PR success. This is typically seen as the high water mark for the Windsors' public support.

In 2013, George is born. In 2015, Charlotte is born.

In 2016, QE2 celebrated her 90th birthday.

In 2002, QE2 celebrated her Golden Jubilee (50 years on the throne), widely recognized as the point when the monarchy fully recovered in public support.

In 2011, two billion people watched William and Kate marry. It was a resounding PR success.

At least Chuckles is doing it now, and publicly. QE2 was still caught in Victorian "never explain, never apologize" mentality where the royal shit didn't stink. He's out- that's what matters- and maybe in anger, he starts spilling the beans on his past buddies.

As a parent, I work really hard not to have a favourite child. The long-running cosseting of Andrew is pretty strong evidence that QE2 very much did have a favourite child.

He had more than ample opportunity to help, he failed as hubris took over

QE2 RIP never had the heart to do this to him

Had Charles not, William was going to do 10x worse

C3 is the only reason Andrews skin is still intact

The ol' admit to nothing but hand out the same punishment for something
This is the Royal equivalent of the amputation of a gangrenous limb to stop the rest of The Firm getting infected.

An act of self-preservation.

If it was integrity, then they'd have booted Andrew out years ago.

They didn't.

To be fair still not as swift and decisive as it should have been … QE2 had a blindspot for her favourite son … he should have been punished years ago and furthermore prosecuted for his crimes

I loved when Hyacinth finally got her trip on the QE2 only to find Onslow and Daisy had won a trip on the same cruise. LOL.

QE2 would unfortunately have found it very very difficult to do this to her favourite son. I suspect that it has been in deference to his mother’s memory that has taken King Charles to try to take a smaller step despite the apparent wishes of Prince William.

Jay, the EU was the only mechanism for large swathes of regeneration in the North. Whenever there is a sniff of an economic downturn London is awarded a major multi billion pound

Kind of feel the monarchy is dying. Maybe it did die with QE2, but King Charles reign is mired in much more scandal then any period I can remember under his mother

The Andrew story is such a massive moment for us to re-evaluate the whole thing

Maybe it’s time to say the monarchy ends with Charles
