#RIPRickBuckler Never saw #TheJam. Closest they came to playing nearby was Philly. (500mi) If not for college radio I probably wouldn't have known who they were till MTV.

I published this last week as a tribute to Bruce Foxton. But tonight it has been announced that The Jam's drummer, Rick Buckler, has died.

Very sad to learn of the untimely death of Rick Buckler. Every great band has a great drummer. There are no exceptions to this rule. The early days of The Jam were exhilarating. #RIPRickBuckler

Very sad news about Rick Buckler.
Saw The Jam at The Rainbow 1980. I've never seen a band since that matched their energy. Their engagement with the crowd, their vibrancy and enthusiasm. They did four encores if I remember correctly.
And the drummer was an absolute powerhouse!
