Better late than never, the #OCRMathsPuzzle for this week.

What is the value of a, b, c, d and e?

For some of you - I hope the half term break was relaxing. For the rest of you - have a good break next week.

Here's our #OCRMathsPuzzle to end this week. 🙂

Integer 2-3-plexity!

2; 3; 2; 3; ... +; x; & [].

Steps to reach k?

Conjectures:

Can't reach 1; 3; 4; 9.

Can reach any >9.

Any integer 2-3 plexity >9, is < integer complexity. Log?
Integer complexity of 36 = 10; 2-3 plexity = 4.

Have you ever heard of Pick’s Theorem? Some folk call it Pick’s Formula. It is my favorite mathematical hidden gem.

Whatever you call it, here is my blog post for how you can discover the formula.
