Even should they come looking for you?” There was no response from the Sniper, only his grip tightening against both guns as if strangling them. “I said I'll be fine,” he quietly huffed, pocketing the flare gun and holding his rifle with both hands again, quickly aiming them at the guard towers. “I'll shoot them before they get close.” It won't be easy, he's only one man. But any more and it'll only make it easier for the enemy to pinpoint his location. He'll just have to keep moving. But Zoticus, still unconvinced, can only put his trust in the man. What little there is he has. Their brush with death might not have appeared to shake him, but it leaves quite an impression. Turning around, he began his steps back to the encampment. But before he was out of earshot, he whispered, “I'm confident, in a pinch, you'll know what to do with the rest of those flares… Tribunus.” All the Legatus heard before he left the hill behind was a quiet scoff.

Yes, he still has a role to play. There won’t be rest for them after this, the walk back to the North would be cruel, the XIVth nor the VIth could care less of providing them a means to return home. They’d have to make it there through their own means. With what little supplies they have and gil. Zoticus glanced over to Saga, who stared back at him with his own face devoid of the life which shines upon the former Tribunus, his little glimmer of light, gone just like that. But… For it to have appeared before him means it exists… and that he can see it again. He’ll just have to find ways for it to show itself again, to make Saga shine brightly.

The Red Moon’s descent was inevitable, Nael had made sure of it. It’s all for Eorzea and The Empire to see, the dark sealed orb growing closer and closer from the distant sky. What was once a speck of dust now looms threateningly over them. The hours of reckoning are soon and they need to make their move fast. Zoticus’s own blood red eyes turned away from the moon. He pressed a hand to his chest, feeling his own heartbeat. There wasn’t much else they needed to prepare for, everything will either crumble to dust or they come out of this to continue on their duty. His duty to the men who had entrusted their life to him. His hand balled into a fist, he must not waver. Several footsteps clanking against the steel floor grow closer and closer. Joining here, atop the walls of the Castrum, are his most trusted men. His Primus, with Saga among them and standing somewhere in the middle.

Gently too… There’s that gentleness that he is grateful Saga would spare to someone like him. “Am indeeeeeeed drunk!” Zoticus hiccuped, slumping slightly due to the difference of their heights. Which made it difficult for them to walk at all, he find himself stumbling over his own legs, often Saga’s as well. “Mmm, they’v keep givin me drinks and shhhite and-” He hiccuped again, now with an hand flailing to gesture his frustration, “-toASTin’ fer nothin’! Well… T’was fer Nael but…” He grumbled, it’s all he can do with his mind going nowhere with the conversation. “Uhh, well, um, can you… walk at all?” “Shore ah can!” And as an example, Zoticus almost pulled them down to kiss the ground. But luckily, Saga was strong enough to keep them both from even tipping too far down toward the floor to truly fall. The sensation did lags behind for the Tribunus, however, and he find himself giggling at it. That seems to be prove enough for Saga to consider that he indeed cannot walk and must be escorted out. So, without further questioning, Saga sighed and devised a plan;

To them, this was where they would pick their allegiance and scope out their next actions in the grand scheme of things. Everyone here is aware of it after all, even Zoticus himself. A great war is on the horizon, and whoever took over Eorzea might lay claim to not only the glory of Garlemald but the recognition of the Emperor. Snippet of the chapter, read as follows: 26th First Astral Moon, 1569 - 4 Miles away from extraction, VIIth Legion Temporary Checkpoint, Mor Dhona Mountain Range. Tensions were high before, but it has died down since a couple days passed. Most of the squadron stuck around, following his direction as they headed to the extraction zone by airship. Nael wouldn’t care for the fate of the Agrius soldier, in fact, he might earn the man’s favor by simply eliminating any possible survivor. Adding more damning scorn to the XIVth and Gaius that the Meteor Project would be seen as the only way forward for them to go. And if it is, he’ll have more than enough ammunition to start the chaos within the Empire. They’ll be nothing more than children holding dangerous weapons, and just like that, they can rob the Empire of everything they’ve taken from them.

An Ellipsus Snippet of the fanfic, which reads: 24th First Astral Moon, 1569 - Lake Silvertear, Mor Dhona Credit where credit’s due, just a tiny bit, the spots they’ve been assigned to rendezvous are quite strategic by Nael’s order. Who could have known the man can still care? Zoticus wouldn’t. It has a good view of Lake Silvertear below and the Agrius has begun its approach, assailed by hordes of dragons that appear to be none too pleased with their assault. Then, as if by miracle, the king of wyrm descends down to coil itself around the Agrius, destroying the massive fleet and sending it down into the lake. Font of aether spews out from whence it lands; the grave of the Empire’s proudest fleet and the Wyrm King as the decor to its tombstone. There was a nearby settlement that was wrought havoc from the aftermath, all lands down below were forever changed with the wave of aether and destruction caused by the event. Had they been sent to patrol down there, it would’ve been their end too.

A stern but fair figure, it can't be further from the truth. That’s why they always turned to him nowadays, Zoticus sas Marinum, the Disciplinary. They call him, the tag on his leash by his master.
