It's too bad so much content is lost back at Twitter.

I may go back and re-post just to have it here as an archive.

I have read & commented on maybe half a dozen #urbanism books. Hoping to help ppl decide if they want to read books themselves.

Currently reading #RightOfWayBook by Angie Schmitt

#RightOfWayBook

Race, Class, & the Silent Epidemic of Pedestrian Deaths in America.

180 pages. I'm 40+ pages in. Fairly easy reading.

As I was checking the page count I noticed Nashville & @walkbikenashville.bsky.social mentioned in the book's conclusion.

Something to look forward to!

What are some US-based introductory books on cycling / cycling infrastructure🚴 ?

In the way that #HumanTransitRevised is a good intro to Transit concepts.

or that #RightOfWayBook is a good intro to Pedestrian issues.

Hillsborough County, FL which contains Tampa, passed a 1% infrastructure sales tax by ballot referendum in 2020.

12% of that penny was reserved for walking & biking projects. 45% for transit.

The Florida Supreme Court overturned it.

Evil stuff

Just noticed @schmangee.bsky.social is on Bluesky.

Check out her book on pedestrian safety.

I finished it recently. It's about 175 pages.

I left a few posts under the hashtag:
