If this works well, it’s actually super useful. Colab has a really sluggish interface (file upload in particular). Even something like JupyterLab on runpod (with SSH access for when something craps out) is night and day.
Any improvement is welcome.

HUGE: Google Colab can now run inside VS Code.
Which means you can:
- run ML/training jobs on (~free) Google Cloud TPU straight from VSCode
- use your favorite AI coding tools (Cursor, Cline etc) with your Colab notebook.
Just install new extension from Google - I tried it and it works.

Looks interesting. Unfortunately the only practical choice if you rent from Runpod is Jupyter, I think. There might be a way to hack it, but with that particular provider you're about two clicks away from Jupyter Lab running on an H100 or whatever you rented.

This is the non-pro Sora 2 Runpod pod. Currently the web and phone based Sora 2 endpoints are busy. Using Runpod API I was able to access their servers. Still working on prompts.

Last update for the night: I went ham on Runpod and trained for 100,000 steps — 10× further than before. Too tired to do proper analysis tonight, but preliminary results (I couldn't help looking) are not supportive of my hypothesis. No black hole evaporation, no structure formation. Disappointed.

Holowrite was somehow better than NovelAI but I don't know which to choose now. I tried RunPOD but it gets kind of expensive having to redeploy or maintain a deployment
