Oh I feel that completely. A lot of the time I find that things are just too busy.
Even with, say, Titanic Scion; the combat itself has a bit going on but there's not much in the way of batshit insane combos I need to keep track of, if that makes sense.

So much has changed about Nayzak since then. She's now a highlander model instead of a midlander. Her hair color is less fuchsia and more pastel. She's mainly shipped with Thancred now. BUT I still have such a soft spot for this pairing, even with Nayzak as a non-WoL scion now
