i had the benefit of watching sdpd do “traffic enforcement” yesterday, as in i almost got hit by a driver who never even slowed down at the stop sign and when i asked the cop sitting there if he saw it he said yes but he would have had to do a u-turn to stop him which is dangerous

San Diego City Council had to repeal a 1918 prohibition on “seditious language” because SDPD was still using it as recently as 2020, mostly to punish Black men for rap lyrics or for criticizing police. voiceofsandiego.org/2020/08/03/s...

A lot of good can be done in San Diego by not letting SDPD deploy a helicopter for every crime. If there were genuinely 3 or 4 crimes per week within a mile of me that were so serious that the fugitive had to be immediately hunted from the air, home values wouldn't even be close to where they are.

Way to turn out at No Kings San Diego!

If you’re not ready to give in to the cynicism and fear, there are plenty of ways to stay involved

This Monday, 10/20, the SD City Council will be discussing an ordinance to restrict ICE access in city-owned spaces and limit SDPD from cooperating with them

Just like last June, our local SDPD was professional, respectful, and basically kept a chill eye on the march as we passed by. I made it a point to say hello and thank a couple of the motorcycle PD. We can get this country back to this kind of law enforcement mindset, I know it.

How awesome is this? I’ll attest to SDPD being totally chill out there today. Taking this extra step is what all PD’s should be doing -
San Diego California: Police Dept. thanks the citizens for peacefully protesting. Once again there were zero arrests.

In San Diego this year, there was a lot of lobbying by many different advocacy groups to protect various parts of the budget from deficit-closing cuts. One man had the ability to say "don't cut this" just once and have the mayor and council instantly obey: the chief of SDPD.
the actual story here, which the media never talks about, is that police in this country have become a discrete right-wing political operation. the story isn't about cops leaving (they're lying about that), it's about the police trying to exert influence over elections.
Lmao is this supposed to be a bad thing?

I highlighted this exact intersection in a video earlier this year. Missing crosswalks force pedestrians into a 10-minute detour (so many jaywalk). www.instagram.com/reel/DH9Qc3h...

I've had a rough wk. Haven't been on much cuz of it. Between the harassment from SDPD it was my father's birthday the other day and I fell into a hole of depression. I'm coming out of it. Just needed to cry some and center myself again. 🥰
