I think it was on the SNL50th where someone made a joke about “season 3 teeth”…the idea that after two seasons on the show the person has the money in the bank and gets their teeth fixed.

I’m so happy the #snl50th didn’t give any of its 180+ minutes of air time to the present asshat in power. It was jubilant, sweet, silly, loving, and a welcome rest from the fear and pain. Good on them.

I smiled a lot watching the SNL 50th Anniversary Show. I was 16 when it began and I’m 66 now. Back then, all the world was in front of me and now the majority of whatever I’ll experience is behind me. Along the way, not every character fit, not every idea worked, but on the whole, what a journey!

One more thought on the show, Sabrina Carpenter did a great job in the skits, especially her croaking out the "bridesmaids" karaoke song. I can see her coming back and doing double duty as host and music host.

Seeing all the SNL50th posts brings to light something I don't think people realize. It's been a very long time since SNL was a scathing rebuke of the imperial core, nowadays they make lukewarm copies of other's jokes and half-hearted observations so as not to upset investors. Why you still watching

The bookending of the #SNL50th with songs about trying to get home seemed appropriately melancholy. When I heard the beginning of "Golden Slumbers" in the movie "Sing" over the holidays in 2016, it brought me to tears because I knew we'd lost the way home, and we're even more lost now.

I wasn't able to watch the #SNL50th last night but have been streaming it today. I LOST it when I realized Jane Curtain and Lorraine Newman were holding up Gilda Radner's photo at the end. Gilda was a fave of mine. I so appreciated this tribute to a legend.😭😭😭
