Each year Vanderbilt has the best #SPIEMedicalImaging group picture. The final shot is shown below, but it was even more impressive when they were still getting organized. It's a little chaotic in the background because it's a coffee break.

Hey that's our Duke CVIT group in the last picture!

I hope we keep this format, kicking off the conference with the plenary speaker and a reception where everyone can mingle and reconnect.

Always one of the most interesting parts of the #SPIEMedicalImaging 🧪🩻 conference, researchers get to show off their toys and connect with each other directly.

Last night at the #SPIEMedicalImaging Live Demonstration Workshop, we saw medical imaging in action! 🎬

From real-time echocardiographic image analysis to CNN segmentation, there were several fascinating demos to enjoy. Thank you to all the attendees and participants!

Bye #SPIEMedicalImaging and San Diego!

Amazing scenic takeoff, we climbed out over the ocean, quickly followed by several left banks back over land that showcased Point Loma, Coronado, downtown, and Chula Vista.🛫

Been coming to #SPIEMedicalImaging conference in San Diego for 30+ years. I'm ready for the move to Vancouver next year, but definitely will miss this place.
Thanks @spie.org for sending us off with the most fantastic weather in many years.🌞🌴

One of the #SPIEMedicalImaging social media logos was recently revised. 🙂‍↔️🦋

With 🧪 under attack, it's gratifying to see @spie.org move over. Government scientists from FDA and NIH have contributed strongly for decades. Many were blocked from attending this year, or worse got fired.🫡

"Humans can be surprisingly good robots... for ultrasound."

Tim Salcudean of UBC gives #SPIEMedicalImaging keynote. Human teleoperation allows expert to guide remote novice to position ultrasound probe, benefiting underserved rural sites far from major hospitals.🧪

Remote communities have difficulty accessing basic ultrasound.

Solution? 👉 Teleultrasound

Tim Salcudean (Univ. of British Columbia) is working on an approach where a novice wearing an MR headset carries out the exam, following a rendered virtual ultrasound transducer. 💻
