I didn't attend SPSP2024 but my takeaway is that there was a massive Streisand effect: the worst poster at SPSP got 1000x more publicity than any other talk or poster there. Is that about right? Or was there buzz around any other talk or poster?

So great to see some old friends and present some new work at #spsp2024. Thanks to @JessieSunPsych for snapping some pics of my talk (and the no longer on Twitter Jim Everett for consistently being the best conference photographer)

I had the most wonderful time at #SPSP2024 in San Diego sharing ideas and good times with my friends and family in science. I look forward to all the great work we’ll do over the coming months and can’t wait until next year!

My favorite talk I went to at #SPSP2024 was by political scientist James Bisbee from Vanderbilt on the cautionary use of large language models as synthetic subjects for political opinion research. We're not there yet, and I bet that's true in other topic areas using LLMs too.

One of the highlights of #SPSP2024 was getting to celebrate Tim Wilson and his (non)retirement from the field…there are not enough words in the dictionary for how wonderful Tim is (we tried) 🧡 here’s to another 50 years!
